Have you ever heard a bat hunting at night? Probably not! Join us as we explore High Park’s amazing and mysterious bat populations. Using hand-held bat detectors, we will listen for bats’ ultrasonic calls in High Park and explore their habitat, behaviour, and favourite foods as they swoop and loop during their evening mid-air forage. There is much to learn about these creatures, but with the help of citizen scientists like you, we can work together to uncover the secrets of their elusive lives.
This bat walk follows Dr. Brock Fenton’s talk, Taking a Closer Look at Bats.
Ages: Adults and Youth 10 years and up.
NOTE: In the event of heavy rain or strong wind, this walk will be cancelled within 1.5 hours of the start time. Please check back with this listing page and/or check out our Facebook or Twitter feed for cancellation notices.
