The High Park Nature Centre is offering guided hikes on Saturdays this spring season.
We invite you to build your friendship with nature by exploring the many gifts and riches found in all four corners of High Park. Find your way around, discover different habitats and use all your senses when enjoying nature with a bunch of curious folks in the middle of a big city. We will learn about, play and track nature together while leisurely hiking the park.

Winter at the Pond: Saturday, March 4 (1:30-3PM)
What happens beneath the ice when a pond freezes over? How do ducks stay warm all winter? Come to the pond and uncover its snowy secrets. Discover who hibernates beneath the ice and who endures the cold.
This exciting one-way hike will allow us to explore parts of the park we usually aren't able to get to from the Nature Centre.
Note: We will meet for this hike at the Jamie Bell Adventure Playground, south-east of High Park and end at the High Park Nature Centre. More information and maps will be included in the hike reminder.

Signs of Spring: Saturday, April 15 (1:30-3PM)
Spring has officially sprung! We're all seeing and experiencing it through different perspectives and from different perches, so bring your spring observations to share! Come for a wander with us to look for tracks in nature left by plants and animals that teach us about this special time of growth and renewal.
April Showers: Saturday, April 29 (1:30-3PM)
April showers bring May flowers! Join us to explore High Park at this very special time of year, to celebrate the longer days, warmer weather, and flowers blooming! We'll search for spring ephemerals and learn about some of the lovely signs of spring in the park.
The Birds are Back in Town: Saturday, May 13 (10-11:30AM)
It's migration season! Come join us to discover some of our winged friends who are passing through the park on their annual migration, and those who are here to stay! We'll welcome the birds back with some activities, and get to know some of our favourite High Park residents!
Note: This program is geared towards children and families. For a more adult-oriented migration event, check out our "World Migratory Bird Day" event on the same day!
