Are you looking for meaningful, active, fun and skill-building activities for your Youth Group?
Want to get outside and connect with the natural environment in the city?
The High Park Nature Centre is an environmental education centre located in Toronto’s largest and most natural urban park. We are presently offering our guided, hands-on ecology-based programs FREE of charge for youth groups, between the ages of 12 and 18.
Our experienced naturalists and guides are skilled at engaging people of different ages and backgrounds with the significant natural areas in High Park. Your group will go on a hike to explore the wildlife, trees and plants of the park, participate in activities to sharpen observation and awareness skills, build team-work, learn ecological principles and discover the personal and emotional benefits of having a connection with nature, oh and of course, get active!
- Fall programs include the opportunity to contribute to High Park’s natural restoration through planting native plants or removing invasive species.
- Winter programs include snowshoeing, tree identification and uses, animal tracking, and orienteering.
This opportunity is being offered for Fall of 2011 and Winter 2012. After-school and weekend times are available. To find out more, or to book a program for your youth group, please email or call the Nature Centre.
COST: FREE! We can also provide transportation subsidies (such as TTC tickets).
