Spring 2012 program registration will take place Monday, March 5th starting at 8:00 am. Nature Centre staff will be ready to receive your registration form(s) and payment at 8:00 am on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Spring Naturalist Clubs
| Knee-High Naturalists $85 | Ages 3 - 5 with parent or caregiver | Playing games in the woods, making nature crafts and learning the wild ways of High Park. Parents can learn a wealth of new ways to develop a love of nature with their young ones. Knee-High Naturalists come with their caregivers. | At Home in High Park $110 | Ages 5 - 10 | At Home in High Park is for homeschoolers and unschoolers who are interested in the ecology of High Park. | Tuesdays on the Pond $95 | Ages 8 - 12 | Get outside! We meet near Grenadier Pond to maximize our time finding bugs, dip-netting, tracking and discovering spring as it unfolds. | Every Tuesday: May 8, May 15, May 22, May 29, June 5, June 12 4 – 6 pm |
| Saturday Morning Naturalist Club $95 | Ages 6 - 8 | Saturday Morning Club is for like-minded young naturalists to meet and explore the park. This club crafts, plays, hikes and takes care of the park. | Ramblers Hiking Club $95 | Ages 8 - 12 | Ramblers Hiking Club is for the older naturalists. | Young Naturalist Mentorship Club $110 | Ages 12-14 | The Nature Centre’s NEW Nature Mentorship Program aims to help young people cultivate naturalist experience. Young Naturalists are encouraged and supported in fostering the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to achieve their goals in nature study. | Every Thursday: April 26, May 3, May 10, May 17, May 24, May 31, June 7, June 14 4 – 6 pm |

This year we will be selling High Park Nature Centre t-shirts for $20 each. T-shirts are made of organic cotton and come in two colours: River Blue and Chocolate Brown (click on the image to view in full size).

| Location | Programs take place at the High Park Nature Centre located on the eastern perimeter of the park at 440 Parkside Drive (at the intersection of Parkside Drive and Indian Valley Crescent). |
| Registration | Pre-registration is required for all programs. Registration cannot be confirmed until payment has been received. |
| Age Requirements | For all programs, children MUST be of the minimum age of the program on or before the start of the program. |
| Registration Policies | Programs are filled on a first-come, first-serve basis. Registration dates are announced about one month prior to the registration date to those people who are on our e-mailing list. If unable to register in person, you can send another person in your place to register your child(ren). This person may only register the children in a single family sharing the same address. This policy is in place to prevent a single person from registering several children from several families. We will not make exceptions to this policy. |
| Cancellation Policy | Plans can change quickly. For a refund, please email or call in your request at least 10 business days prior to the start of the program. An administration fee of 10% will be charged for early cancellations. For requests received less than 10 business days prior to the start of program, an administration fee of 50% of the fee will apply. A full refund will be issued if a program is cancelled by the Nature Centre. |
| Weather Policies | Programs will proceed rain, snow or shine. Please be sure to dress your child appropriately for the weather as we will be outdoors for most of the activities. Indoor programs will be run in the case of severe inclement weather such as heavy rain, thunderstorms, snowstorms or high winds over 35 km per hour. We also advise wearing long pants, socks and long sleeved tops to protect against poison ivy. If you have any questions please call our office at 416-392-1748 ext. 2. |
If you are unable to register in person on registration day, you have the following options:
1 – You can send another person in your place to register your child(ren). This person may only register the children in a single family sharing the same address. 2 – You can send your registration by mail to: 440 Parkside Dr, Toronto ON M6R 2Z3. Mailed registrations will be taken care of in the order that they are received ONLY AFTER in-person registration is completed.
3 – You can drop off your registration form and payment at the Nature Centre, either giving it to the staff (if available) or leaving it in our secure mailbox. These registrations will be taken care of in the order that they are received ONLY AFTER in-person registration is completed. If there is a program in session, please DO NOT enter the Nature Centre; we would prefer you leave your form in the mailbox in that case.
Please note: Payment for programs can be made by CASH or CHEQUE only. Registration forms will only be accepted if they are accompanied by the program fee.
