Employment Opportunity: Office Administrator

The High Park Nature Centre promotes awareness and respect for nature through year-round, hands-on outdoor nature education and park stewardship programs for people of all ages. We are seeking an outgoing, highly organized, efficient and self-motivated person who loves nature, kids and High Park to join our team as an Office Administrator. This is a part-time position at 20 hours per week (Monday – Friday from 10am – 2pm).


  • Receive and manage telephone messages and inquiries, emails and mail;

  • Greet and assist visitors, maintain the Centre’s public information displays;

  • Work with staff to process and track all program bookings and registrations,

  • Maintain master schedule and online event calendar;

  • Track sales, invoices, refunds, purchases, and payments;

  • Prepare bank deposits and maintain deposit records;

  • Track and process charitable donations and memberships, maintain donor database;

  • Maintain office supplies and equipment; and

  • Coordinate Bat Monitor and Seed Lending Libraries, process loans/returns.


  • University or college diploma in Office Administration or a related discipline, with a minimum of two years of experience working in an administration role in either a volunteer or professional capacity OR equivalent combination of work experience and education;

  • Experience working or volunteering in a non-profit environment an asset;

  • Experience working in child and family-focused environment an asset;

  • Demonstrated organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines;

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing;

  • Flexibility, initiative, creativity and problem solving skills;

  • High level of proficiency with MS Office including Excel, Word, Outlook;

  • Proficiency with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop an asset;

  • Proficiency with Quickbooks and/or Sumac and/or WordPress an asset; and

  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.
