Donors & Supporters

The High Park Nature Centre is a non-profit organization that instills awareness, understanding and respect for nature through hands-on outdoor environmental education.  Our year round programs connect urban children, youth and families with the nature in their city and involve them in the protection and stewardship of Toronto’s largest green space, High Park.

Since 1999, the Nature Centre has been a leader in the development and delivery of programs about and for High Park’s biodiversity. Some of our innovative programs include curriculum-linked elementary and secondary school field trips that involve students in hands-on ecological restoration, such as native species plantings and invasive species removal. Other programs include our Knee-High Naturalists Parent and Child Club, Young Naturalists Summer Camp and Wild in the City Family Nature Walks.

Approximately 50% of our annual budget is funded through program fees, and the balance is raised through fundraising and volunteer work. The majority of our programs run at capacity with waiting lists for many popular programs. We are looking for sustained funding to expand operations at the Nature Centre, to increase the accessibility of our programs and diversify our participant base.

If you are interested in supporting the High Park Nature Centre, please consider donating to our Nearer to Nature Adopt-A-Class program.
